| Estate Management System (EMS) |
| Mobile Facility Inspection System (MFIS) |
| Think You are in the business of providing building maintenance service. What can set you apart from your competitors? You manage your own property, whether it is a complex or a fleet of trains. How can you do a better job? |
| Mobile
Facility Inspection System (MFIS) is the Answer MFIS uses PDA technology to make facility inspection a breeze. Inspection Officer patrols the property, notices items/areas requiring attention, keys in his finding and sends this bit of info to the estate management office through a remote (wireless) access connection. Half the job done! No need for the man to be physically back in the office, no need for messy reporting forms, no risk of missing reports. And now, for the other half... The system can then notify contractors through auto-paging or auto-SMS. Before the Inspection Officer makes his next round, he downloads historical inspection reports to his PDA. He can then verify if appropriate action was indeed taken since his last report. The estate management office generates Individual Case Reports with full information on the nature of each defect, the remedial action taken, the costs involved etc. Monthly Maintenance Reports allow overview on any irregularity or insights on areas that call for improvement. And, here lies the answer. As a service provider, you are streets ahead of your competitor. As an owner, you are empowered to do a better job. |
| Data Capturing |
| The Inspection
Officer notices items/areas requiring attention, keys this finding into
his PDA. Building information, floor plans, key inspection points are pre-loaded to the PDA to minimize user input. |
| Image Capturing |
| When words
are not enough, why not take a picture? The PDA can be adapted to allow capturing of digital images. |
| Remote Update |
| A GSM/GPRS
Remote Access Module is built into the PDA so that inspection results can be sent instantly to the host computer that resides in the estate management office. Officers in the estate management office are able to retrieve virtually real-time information about the site, and take necessary action. |
| Auto-Paging / SMS |
| The host
computer is built-in with an auto-paging or auto-SMS facility to notify
the appropriate contractor about any action required from them. |
| Work Scheduling |
| A Work Scheduling
Module assists the user in scheduling and monitoring remedial work. This is done with the benefit of reports received from the field. |
| Historical Records Retrieval |
| Before the
Inspection Officer sets off on his next round, historical inspection records are downloaded to his PDA. He is thus able to verify if appropriate action has been taken since his last report. |
| Management Reporting |
| Individual
Case Reports, Monthly Maintenance Reports etc. can be generated with the click of a mouse. The end result of the MBIS is control through information. |
| System Configuration |
| Client-server based or Intranet based platform. |
| Client-Server Platform |
| The Client-Server based version consists of a server and several workstations. The server is solely for storing common databases and routines while workstations are for users to perform the functions available in the system. |
| Intranet Platform |
| Users access and run the system via internet browser, such as IE5 and Netscape. |
